Background  - In 1994 Governor Wilson signed AB 3754 (Caldera) establishing the Property and Business Improvement District Law of 1994.  This new State Law created a mechanism for property owners to join forces and improve their commercial districts.  The Studio City Improvement Association seized this opportunity to utilize this new tool to provide efficient supplemental services to Studio City.

Boundaries The boundaries of the BID are as follows: Ventura Boulevard between Rhodes Avenue and Carpenter Avenue, Ventura Place, Ventura Court between Rhodes and Laurelgrove, Radford Avenue from Ventura Boulevard to Valleyheart Drive.

The Studio City Business Improvement District (BID) is a coalition of over 150 property owners committed to enhancing the qualify of life in Studio City.

Founded in 1999, the BID's successful programs include maintaining the beautification of the District’s streets, sidewalks and surroundings, and marketing to assist local businesses.

The primary objective of the District at the time of its formation was to promote the construction of 400 to 600 new parking spaces in the core of the BID.   

In the District, improvement costs are financed by District property owners and grants. The District was initially capitalized at $274,000 annually for a period of five years.

Studio City Business Improvement District (BID) is a charming, clean and attractive stretch primarily along Ventura Boulevard  that has been known for its quaint small-town atmosphere.
